CrossFit is a core strength and conditioning program. It is not a franchise which means that every CrossFit gym is privately owned. When we opened the doors of CrossFit Stamford for the first time in 2006 we created a mission statement: to “Get our Members in the Best Shape of their Lives in the Safest and Most Fun Way Possible!”
This simple revelation has helped us shape our program and guide our decisions for over 10 years.
CrossFit workouts can be intense but they are also intended to be scaled and modified for all ages and fitness levels. So anyone can do it!
There are many factors that separate CrossFit from other fitness programs but if you ask the members of CrossFit Stamford they’ll tell you that the Coaches’ care and assistance coupled with the people that you sweat alongside make this gym stand out among the crowd.
Our Teens Do Work is for kids age 9-13 who are interested in improving strength and conditioning under the supervision of a qualified coach. The program will not only improve fitness level but will also give your teen the ability to set goals and create healthy habits necessary to excel in traditional sports and/or recreational activities.
Your Teenage Firebreather will learn body awareness, proper weightlifting technique and basic gymnastics. Our program stands by the same core principles as our adult classes: have fun in a safe group atmosphere with positive reinforcement and peer motivation.
“I was looking for an activity for my daughter Emma who is almost 13 and as every teenager is going through that time when nothing seems to be good enough especially if no friends are involved. After checking a few places nothing seemed to work for Emma or my crazy work schedule. I found myself comparing every single place or activity to CFS.

Shoulder a stone. Carry a yoke. Push/pull a sled. Flip a tire. Strong man movements enhance functional fitness and provide an important base for increasing your overall performance as a CrossFit athlete.
Strongman training is proven to increase your raw upper/lower body strength and at the same time boost your grip strength. Farmers carries are one example of a strong man movement that transitions over to enhancing your grip strength for Pullups, Toes to Bar, and Deadlifts for example.
This class is for all levels and you’ll be taught how to do these new movements properly and have fun trying out some new toys!
