1. What brought you to CFS?
My best friend from high school needed a workout buddy to help get in shape for her wedding. She found CFS and I tagged along for our October 2010 on ramp and have been here ever since!!

2. What 1 thing would you like members to know.
Hmmmmm…. I was named after the song “Sweet Melissa” by the Almond Brothers Band. Describes me perfectly, I know 😉

3. What PR are you most proud of? What is your next PR goal?
It’s a tie between my first ring muscle-up (first CFS lady to get one, no big deal) and consuming 8 slices of pizza during last year’s pizza WOD (most slices ever eaten by a female, also no big deal).

4. If you could have anyone coach you through a WOD, who would it be?
Charles Barkley. He was my favorite basketball player back in the day, and I was pumped when he got into CrossFit. Seriously…how can you say no to Sir Charles pushing you through a WOD???

5. What were you like in high school?
Part nerd, part fun-loving ghetto girl. I was in all Honors and AP classes, but enjoyed listening to the Notorious BIG and drinking Private Stock 40s on the weekends with my Waterbury peeps.

6. What movie as a kid scarred you the most?
I LOVED scary movies as a kid, especially Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, Friday the 13th and all Stephen King movies. I think the original Poltergeist scared me the most.

7. What is your biggest first world problem?
Waiting for my nails to dry after a mani/pedi. I ALWAYS smudge them because I get bored sitting there and don’t let them dry properly. The struggle is real.

8. What is your favorite meal, in detail?
I’m just gonna mix and match some of my faves…

Drink: Bottle of Cabernet
Appetizers: Meat and cheese board from Amore and fried meatballs from Fortina
Entree: Lasagna from Cafe Silvium (with extra sauce and their fresh bread for dipping of course)
Dessert: Tiramisu also from Cafe Silvium
After Dinner Drink: Espresso martini from Prime
Late Night Snack: Pepperoni pizza from Domenick and Pia’s (best pizza in CT, located in Waterbury)

9. If you had $1 million, what would you spend it on? Give details!
I’d have to be responsible and pay off my student loans. Then hook up my mom and gramps with a new house, hook up myself with a house, pay for my wedding, and put some away for my future kids’ college fund. Then I’d travel the world with my fiancé until we ran out of money and had to come home. I might need more than $1 million…

10. What are you most grateful for?
SO MUCH! Every day I get to wake up next to the love of my life, fulfill my calling as a kindergarten teacher, and workout with great friends at an awesome gym!!! I am most grateful to have my health, a supportive family, my fiancé who loves me just as I am, and amazing life-long friends.
