Every few months the Coaches choose one person who exudes the attitude and work ethic of a true CrossFitter. We chose Christian because he works well with all types of people, has developed skills through hard work and practice, and does it all with a smile on his face and helpful words for other members. It’s having members/friends like Christian that remind us why we opened this business in the first place.

How long have you been CrossFitting?
I joined in November of 2014.

Why did you join CrossFit Stamford?
I had a client that was buying a Crossfit Gym. She had been doing Crossfit for a couple of years and is a Games Athlete. I was terribly out of shape and thought it would be a good opportunity to learn more about Crossfit so I could help my client and help myself.

What is your favorite movement?
I just started doing kipping pull-ups with a band. I never thought I would see that day. That brought great satisfaction, but, I love the Bench Press and the Bench Press loves me.

What is your least favorite movement?
Anyone who has witnessed me doing this would know that its Burpees. It’s torture. I’ve fallen and I can’t get up!

What is the best thing about CrossFit Stamford?
I drank the Kool-ade. It’s the community. It’s great to have a place to go where everyone knows your name and its not a bar. I tell people its like being on the team again and if you miss practice you feel bad, like you are letting people down. That’s good to have in your life.

Most memorable moment?
There’s been a few, but I think the power lifting competition was the most fun. I hadn’t competed since college. I threw the shot put and discus. The power lifting competition was a similar type of competition and it really got the juices flowing. I didn’t know I missed it so much and I lifted a lot more than I had in a long time. Really awesome!

What are your fitness goals 3 months & 1 year from now?
I struggle to keep the weight off, so its always a goal to lose weight. More importantly, as I have learned through the Challenge, to shift the muscle to fat ratio in my body. Still working on that! To be happy and Healthy, what else is there really?

What is your favorite Challenge friendly food? What do you eat when you give into a craving?
I am the Kabob King. Chicken/Lamb/Beef on a skewer are my favorites and can eat it every day.
Probably Pizza. I make a killer pie myself and when I go off the cliff its big. Sausage, cheese dough….the whole nine yards!

What advice would you give a potential new member?
Stick with it. It hurts real bad in the beginning. If you go consistently, you will eventually find yourself planing your day around making class. When I first started, I couldn’t complete the fitness test in the On Ramp class. It was horrifying. Everyone was standing around me cheering me through to the bitter end. I’ll never forget that. I appreciated the total lack of judgement and the honest encouragement.

A celebrity joins the gym, who do you hope it is and why?
Angelina Jollie. Please don’t tell my wife!

Tell us something we don’t know about you.
I was a two time All American in the Shot Put. I have three cats.
