Every few months the Coaches choose one person who exudes the attitude and work ethic of a true CrossFitter. We chose Fernanda because she works extremely hard when she’s here for class, Strongman and personal training sessions. We love how she is a great example for Emma (her daughter) and other women in the gym of what strength looks like. It’s having members/friends like Fernanda that remind
us why we opened this business in the first place.
How long have you been CrossFitting?
I have been doing Crossfit since October 2012. The best advice given to me by a friend from high school who has been doing Crossfit for over 6 years.
Why did you join CrossFit Stamford?
When I decided to give Crossfit a try I started looking for gyms around my area. When I checked Crossfit Stamford’s website I knew it was the one. The best thing that happened to me was signing up for the On Ramp class. I was going through a very difficult time in my life at the time (divorce) and I needed it something that will help me heal my soul and change my mind. One year after I was a completely different person. CrossFit is my outlet.
What is your favorite movement?
My favorite movement is Overhead Squats. Any time I see that movement on a workout I get excited.
What is your least favorite movement?
My least favorite move is gonna have to be “The Snatch”
What is the best thing about CrossFit Stamford?
CrossFit Stamford is “UNIQUE”. All the coaches are very disciplined and dedicated. My favorite class now is Strongman but I can stop by at any time of the day and I will enjoy the class. The Challenges, The Competitions, The Coaches, The members, etc.. There is not a gym like it.
Most memorable moment?
My first Strict Pull Up!!!!!
What are your fitness goals 3 months & 1 year from now?
In 3 months being able to do a set of 5 strict pull ups.
One year from now being able to do a bar muscle up. That is my dream!!!!
What is your favorite Challenge friendly food? What do you eat when
you give into a craving?
Favorite Challenge friendly food is Avocado. Can’t live without avocados.
I crave once in a while Truffle fries with Mayo, not ketchup but Mayo.. Yumm
What advice would you give a potential new member?
Anyone is able to do Crossfit. It will change not only your body but your mind and soul as well. Being able to do things with your body that at one point you thought it was impossible it gives you light. It will make your body and heart stronger. It is a lifesaver.
A celebrity joins the gym, who do you hope it is and why?
I love Soccer!! Can you imagine Lio Messi, Mascherano, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar Jr, Lavezzy etc.. doing burpees next to you??
Tell us something we don’t know about you.
I love poetry, I read poetry to clear my mind. I used to write poems when I was little (spanish of course). I still write letters to my best friends and family members.
I love to cook, I would love to own a little cafe downtown. I love to ride my bike.
